Ms. Wendi Brick, Consultant / Facilitator
Wendi Brick brings 18 years of experience in customer service and performance management to the team. After being hired full time by the County of San Diego, she focused her energy and attention on government-citizen liaison activities, helping to fill a gap between technical government information and general knowledge. Wendi has experience in large-scale public meeting facilitation, and one-to-one citizen interactions and has extensive experience in providing information to government employees, and customers of government, in a way that focuses on professionalism, respect, and high quality service delivery, and outcomes.
In 1998, Wendi became the County's first Customer Service Manager. She was responsible for developing the County's nationally recognized Customer Service Center, which was regularly used as a model for other government organizations around the United States. The Customer Service Center was awarded two NACo Achievement Awards, and in 2003, Wendi was a Finalist in the San Diego Business Journal's annual "Women Who Mean Business."
In November 2006, Wendi became the Director of the Department of Customer Services for the City of San Diego. The Department is responsible for many programs, including citizens' assistance and outreach activities, as well as internal programs, such as organizational development.
Wendi is President and Founder of Customer Service Advantage, a consulting and training firm specializing in customer service for government agencies. Wendi is also a faculty member with the San Diego Regional Training Center, and has previously held adjunct faculty positions with Cuyamaca Community College and San Diego State University. Wendi earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Public Health in Toxicology, both from San Diego State University.
Over the years, Wendi has worked numerous agencies as performance management and customer service consultant, including San Diego County, the Cities of Oceanside, Poway, Vista, San Marcos, Solana Beach, Escondido, and Coronado, Murrieta, Irvine, the Eastern Municipal Water District and the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District.
