Ms. Theresa Reyes-Cummings, Consultant / Facilitator
Theresa Reyes-Cummings brings over seventeen years of government, non-profit, grants administration and program development experience to the team. Her tenure in grants administration and corrections includes work with public-private partnerships, state and local government, grant writing and administration and developing performance standards and reporting for local social service programs and probation services. Theresa served three years as President of the Kansas Community Corrections Association where she was actively involved in advocating for local interests during the state legislative process and was successful at lobbying for improved state and county partnerships and enhancing funding for community corrections services throughout Kansas.
Theresa's experience includes grants administration where she has managed over $13 million in state and federal grant programs. Currently, she is serving as the Program Development Specialist for the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund, developing mental health services for Jackson County residents. She also served as the Government Grants and Contracts Administrator for Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, managing over $10 million in government resources. TMC is a non-profit, safety-net hospital providing indigent care for patients throughout metropolitan Kansas City. In addition to her full-time career, she continues to provide performance management and grant writing consulting services for local non-profits and universities including the Boys and Girls Club, Rebuilding Together Liberty and Texas Tech University Center for Public Service.
While Theresa specializes in mental health program development and government grant administration she is an experienced facilitator/consultant with a passion for performance management practices. Theresa has provided performance management consulting for the United States Forest Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation, and the City of Tacoma, Washington. She is skilled at combining direct experience with her theoretical knowledge of performance practices to assist organization with defining obtainable performance measures and putting them into practice. Theresa works part time with inCentergy as a Senior Consultant and Facilitator.
Theresa holds a Masters in Public Administration, a bachelor's degree in Social Science, paralegal certification, and Grantsmanship award. She is a member of the American Public Administrators Association and was recently elected Chair of the American Association of Grant Professionals, Heart of America Chapter, and Board President of the YWCA.
